We have not rewritten any of these. The spelling is theirs, and the best line on this whole website was written by a guest who was not trying to sell anybody anything.

I have been staying at the Matador since 1988, except for a couple of years after my husband died and I will continue to come there as long as I can.
The Matador may not have a spa or restaurant bar with umbrella drinks, but its a place that becomes familiar, like a home away from home for all its guests. Now if you are a true NJ shore vacationer, that's what you truly want.
Me and my family always enjoyed staying at this hotel. We have been coming since the 80's.

It is where they said it is
On the beach and on the boardwalk, not a ten-minute walk from either. Guests notice, because most places overstate it.

The family is actually there
Reviews mention the owners by name, and their grandchildren running about the property. That is not something a chain can copy.

Since 1988. Since the eighties. Every year with the same room number. The repeat rate is the whole business.
May through October. Book direct and deal with the family, not a middleman.
